“Today we will embark on a dream tour of some of the most exquisite boutiques and galleries on the Island. It’s a fabulous opportunity to meet dome of the island’s local artists, and choose a piece or two!
The first step of today’s tour will be in the quaint capital of Basseterre, where local boutiques and small shops abound! Here guests will have an opportunity to do some quick shopping before heading off to Caribelle Batik!
Romney Manor, the home of Caribelle Batik is a gorgeous 350 year old estate, formally owned by a British Earl, is where local artists transform Island cotton into magnificent works of batik art. As you walk through the gardens filled with exotic plants and flowers, you will find a 350 year old African Saman tree covering half and acre of land, and of course, countless magnificent batik’s from hankies to wraps and scarves!
From there it’s on to Kate Design Gallery where guests will also have an opportunity to meet the artist, Kate Spencer. Kate produces some of the finest local Art, Giclee, Lithographs, place mats, tablemats and more, and all are available for purchase.
After having a chance to mingle and purchase, guests are then whisked away to a sumptuous lunch at a fabulous Plantation House!
